Privacy

This notice explains what happens to information you share on this website. In short: the contact form sends your message to me so I can reply, the chat demo sends your messages to an AI provider to generate replies, and this site doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies.

Who I am

This website is run by Kernel Studio (Mahir Ahmed), sole trader, based in East London. For the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) I'm the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: hello@kernelstudio.co.uk.

The contact form

When you send the contact form I receive:

• your name and email address
• your type of business and the package you're interested in
• your message, and the date and time it was sent

Your details are used for one thing: replying to you. If you hire me, I'll use them to do the work. I never sell them or use them for marketing. The legal reason is that you asked me to get in touch, and answering enquiries is a normal part of running my business.

Enquiries are sent to my email inbox through Resend, an email delivery service, which may keep a short-lived record of each message. They are not stored on the website's server. Emails to hello@kernelstudio.co.uk are forwarded by Namecheap and received in Gmail (Google). Your IP address is used briefly in memory to stop spam (rate limiting) and is not saved with your message.

I keep your message for up to 12 months in case we need to follow up, then I delete it.

The live AI chat demo

The chat demo on the home page lets you talk to an AI assistant for one of three fictional businesses. When you send a message:

• Your message, and the earlier messages in that chat, are sent to Anthropic, an AI provider, to generate a reply. Anthropic processes them under its own terms and privacy policy (anthropic.com/legal/privacy).
• This website does not save chat messages. They exist in your browser tab until you reset the chat or leave the page.
• Your IP address is held briefly in server memory to limit how many messages can be sent (20 per chat, plus per-minute and per-day limits). It isn't written to disk.
• If the AI isn't available, replies come from a simple script on this server instead, and nothing is sent to Anthropic.

Please don't type personal information (names, phone numbers, addresses, health or payment details) into the demo. It's for trying the assistant out, and the businesses aren't real.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not set cookies and doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Fonts are served from this site, not from a third party. If that ever changes, this notice will be updated first, and anything non-essential will ask for your consent.

Like most websites, the hosting provider may keep short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) for security and reliability.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how it's used. Email hello@kernelstudio.co.uk and I'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top will change too.
